Counselling Services Offered
Individual/Couples Counselling or Mediation
Each year more and more people are seeking the help of a professional counsellor or psychotherapist. One of the reasons for this may simply be because whilst friends and family can offer a willing and sympathetic ear, there are occasions in our lives when we feel that those who we are closest to are not the right people to listen to our worries.
People may seek counselling due to:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Low self-esteem
- Relationship difficulties
- Bereavement or loss
- Work related stress
- Rape or Abuse : emotional, physical or sexual
- To change patterns of behaviour

Reflections Counselling offers confidential support in a caring, non-judgemental way within a safe environment. It gives the opportunity for an individual to explore any difficulties they are experiencing and offers support whilst they make their own informed choices. The counselling relationship is based upon honesty, acceptance, empathy and respect.
Our therapists work from both a person-centred and a cognitive behavioural approach. There is strong evidence from research to suggest that cognitive behavioural treatment (CBT) is particularly helpful in treating common difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
Counselling or mediation sessions last for between 50 minutes and an hour for adults. Sessions for children are usually between 30 – 45 minutes depending upon the age of the child.
